An American multinational food chain, Burger King, has announced the distribution of meal vouchers worth 480,000 shekels ($125,900) to Israeli occupation soldiers and reservists.
This development came after a lawsuit filed by customers in 2022, alleging that the food chain served non-kosher food at one of its branches in Israel.
Despite losing its kosher status over a year prior, the branch allegedly kept displaying a kosher certificate outside.
However, the food chain rejected the plaintiff's claim of serving non-kosher food but admitted that the sign was removed after the lawsuit was filed.

Judge Rachel Arkobi noted that the sign at the mall clearly indicated the branch was kosher, supporting the plaintiff's claim.
Recently, Burger King was ordered to issue 8,727 vouchers, each worth at least 55 shekels ($14.40), with an expiry date of one year.
These vouchers can be used at any kosher branch. Notably, a settlement was reached under court supervision, granting the plaintiff 9,600 shekels ($2,500) plus 1,000 shekels for legal fees.
It is worth mentioning that this announcement was reportedly made by "Burger King Israel."
In a related incident, McDonald's Israel posted on social media in October 2023 that it had provided free meals to Israel Defense Forces personnel, which led to a boycott drive and the company's first quarterly sales miss in nearly four years during the fourth quarter of 2023.
