Delivery boy commits suicide after 'heated argument' with female customer

In a heartbreaking incident, a 19-year-old delivery boy took his own life after facing a scathing encounter with a female customer.

According to Indian media, the sad incident took place in the Kolathur region of Chennai.

Pavithran, who was also a ‎B.com‎ student, worked part-time as a delivery rider to support his studies.

On September 11, he received an order to deliver groceries, but difficulties in finding the customer's home led to a delay.

Upon arrival, the customer berated him for being late, local media said.

Later, the customer complained to the delivery platform, which prompted the company to take action against Pavithran.

Two days after the altercation, Pavithran returned to the customer's residence and broke her home's window with a stone, Hindustan Times reported. 

The customer complained to the police, who located Pavithran, questioned him, and issued a stern warning.

No formal FIR was registered against the boy due to his student status, local media said.

Pavithran was found dead in his room five days after the incident, leaving behind a suicide note.

"The reason for my death – I went into depression after being scolded by the person during the delivery. More deaths will occur as long as such women exist," the note read.

However, Indian police have initiated action against the company and are investigating potential pressure on Pavithran.
