A Palestinian girl mourned the death of her father, who was killed in an Israeli attack while collecting water from a Gaza Municipality vehicle at Bashir Al-Rayes School on Monday.

The Israeli attack killed at least four people and injured 13 others, according to eyewitnesses, when a truck was distributing water among displaced Palestinians.

In a heartbreaking video, the young girl, along with her siblings, was seen grieving the loss of her father, pouring out her love for him.

“There is a fire in my heart, O dad, I won't see you anymore, wake up even if a minute to let me tell you I love you, do you want water? O dad, this is the last time I will see you...O dad...I will not scream out to let you stay in peace,” she said while crying profusely.

People around the little girl were trying to console her.

In June 2024,  the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said that 69% schools in the Gaza Strip, sheltering displaced Palestinians, were “directly hit” by the Israeli occupation army.

Since then, Israel has bombed several schools and continued to attack innocent Palestinians in their shelters under the pretext of targeting Hamas.

In May 2024, an Israeli airstrike killed at least 112 people while they gathered to collect flour at al-Rashid Street in Gaza City.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that 83% of Gaza is under evacuation orders or designated as ‘no-go’ zones by the Israeli military.

The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 40,435, with 93,534 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
