Dubai population reaches historic high

Dubai: The Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment has released new figures showing that the emirate’s population has reached an unprecedented 4 million.

According to the report, Dubai’s population was only 187,000 in 1975. By 2011, it had grown to 2 million, and in 2025 it has doubled to 4 million.

If the current pace continues, the population is projected to reach 5 million by 2032 and 6 million by 2039.

Economists note that Dubai remains an attractive hub for investors, professionals, millionaires, and billionaires.

However, they caution that population growth will drive greater demand for housing, education, healthcare, and public transport.

Experts also warn that the rapid rise in population could add to inflationary pressures, worsen traffic congestion, and spur the development of new residential communities.

They highlight that Dubai’s Metro Blue Line and upcoming retail projects are expected to play a critical role in meeting the demands of the growing population.
