An Egyptian wildcat, commonly referred to as a lynx, infiltrated an Israeli army base near Mount Harif, attacking multiple soldiers and leaving them injured.
The incident quickly gained traction on social media, with many users humorously labeling the animal “antisemitic” and claiming the soldiers “got what they deserved.”
Reports indicate that Israeli authorities received multiple complaints of a wild predator biting soldiers near the Egypt-Israel border.
After an extensive search, the lynx was captured and transported to a medical facility for examination.
While Israeli media speculate that the lynx may have crossed over from Egypt, no definitive proof has been found.

The border region is home to a variety of predators, making such encounters possible.
The Egyptian wildcat, measuring 60-90 cm in length and weighing up to 20 kg, is a highly skilled predator. With the ability to reach speeds of 80 km/h, it primarily hunts rodents, rabbits, birds, and even larger animals like deer and goats.
Known for its sharp claws, strong fangs, and exceptional climbing and jumping abilities, the lynx remains a formidable hunter in the wild.
