A heart-wrenching scene unfolded at Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, where mourners gathered around the body of Hussam Wafi, a father of six daughters who was killed while attempting to collect food for his family.
Wafi, accompanied by his brother and nephew, had gone to a relief center in Rafah to fetch flour when he came under Israeli fire, according to the Palestinian Civil Defense.
The incident reportedly resulted in the deaths of 31 individuals.
In tears, Wafi’s mother, Nahleh Wafi, said, "He went to get bread for his daughters and returned as a lifeless body."

In the courtyard of Nasser Hospital, Wafi’s widow and young daughters were surrounded by relatives trying to console them, as they now face a future shadowed by grief, hunger, and orphanhood.
Palestinian officials have accused Israel of carrying out a drone strike on unarmed civilians collecting aid—an act they say constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
