The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that four reservists were killed during a confrontation with Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon on Thursday.
The incident occurred amid ongoing tensions in the region, where military operations have intensified.
The IDF has not released detailed information about the circumstances of the clash, but it has expressed condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.
This escalation comes as Israel continues to address security threats from Hezbollah.
Earlier, an Israeli doctor who celebrated death of the IDF commander has been suspended.
According to media reports, Dr. Batla Falah's post showed a picture of Col. Daxa with the caption, "May this be the fate of every criminal – resistance is avenged."
Acting on the issue, the Chairman of the Ethics Bureau of the Israel Medical Association sent an official letter to the Health Ministry, requesting the suspension of the medical license of the doctor.
In his letter, Dr. Yossef Walfisch, Chairman of the Ethics Bureau of the Israel Medical Association, reminded that clear guidelines were established in 2014 instructing doctors to exercise restraint and responsibility when expressing their views in the media and on social networks, especially during politically and socially sensitive periods.
The commander of the IDF's 401st "Iron Tracks" Brigade, Col. Ehsan Daxa, was killed in combat in northern Gaza, the military announced on Sunday evening.
Col. Daxa was 41 years old and came from Daliyat al-Karmel, the largest Druze community in Israel. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
