French lawmaker wins hearts by waving Palestine flag in parliament

A french lawmaker won the hearts of millions after he waived the flag of Palestine during a session in the parliament.
However, Mr Sebastien Delogu, a member of parliament representing the radical-left ‘France Unbowed’ (LFI) party, was suspended for two weeks for raising the Palestine flag.
The incident happened when a ‘heated debate’ over France's stance to recognise the Palestine state was underway in the parliament.
The video of the act also went viral on social media, drawing appreciation from the netizens.

However, the speaker of the house, Yael Braun-Pivet, termed the move as "unacceptable behaviour".
Later, France lawmakers voted to Delogu from the parliament for two weeks. His parliamentary allowance was also cut by half for two months.
“We will never be silent! France is complicit in the genocide in Palestine. By brandishing a Palestinian flag, will Macron finally wake up and realise that we must stop selling weapons and demand the recognition of the State of Palestine” Delogu said while talking to media outside the parliament post-suspension.
