The number of ships traversing the Strait of Hormuz remained low on Tuesday as only four ships made their way through the strategic oil transit point amid the ongoing spat between Iran and the US in the Hormuz region, data from maritime tracker Anadolu indicated.

The latest data revealed that two ships sailed eastwards to westwards while two ships sailed in the opposite direction near the strait over the past day as of 0900 GMT Tuesday.

The ships traveling from east to west include Muara and Aurora ships. Both ships have been described as Shimokita Maru.

Muara is described as a container ship that had its port of destination as Jebel Ali, in the UAE.

Aurora ship is described as a limestone ship bound for Umm Qasr, Iraq. The vessel was listed as in transit.

For the ships traveling from west to east, they include Nooh Gas and Pasargad 11.

Nooh Gas ship has been described as an LPG tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas bound for Khor Fakkan, UAE.

The limited number of selected vessel movements underscored continued caution around the waterway, which remains one of the world’s most important transit routes for crude oil, refined products and liquefied natural gas.
