A devastating wildfire in Los Angeles has reduced thousands of homes to ashes, but one house miraculously remains completely unharmed.
According to American media reports, the wildfire has turned the historic city into ruins within days.
U.S. officials have confirmed 16 deaths due to the fire, while 12,000 homes have been destroyed and 37,000 acres of land devastated.
Media reports also state that 13 people are still missing, and search efforts are ongoing. Meanwhile, a curfew has been imposed in the affected areas due to nighttime looting incidents.
Amidst the destruction, a remarkable image has emerged of a house standing perfectly intact while all surrounding homes have been completely destroyed.
The house, owned by American investor David Steiner, is a three-story building that remained entirely fireproof. Valued at $9 million, the property was purchased by Steiner from an American producer.
Speaking to American media, Steiner expressed his disbelief and gratitude, saying, "Miracles never cease, and this is one of them. While over 10,000 homes were destroyed, ours was spared."
Steiner recounted how, upon hearing of the fire, he assumed his house had been destroyed. However, as the flames subsided, people began contacting him to share the astonishing news that his home was the only one left standing. "When my wife sent me a picture of the house the next day, I was overwhelmed with joy," he said.
The fortunate investor admitted he never imagined such a catastrophic fire in Los Angeles. "Honestly, I always thought that if an earthquake struck, this house would be our last refuge," he added.
How Did the House Survive the Fire?
American media reports attribute the survival of Steiner's house to its fireproof and earthquake-resistant design. Even the roof was constructed with fire-resistant materials, ensuring the three-story building remained completely safe.
While Steiner expressed relief over his home’s survival, he extended his prayers for those who lost their homes in the tragedy.
