Indian MP, Asaduddin Owaisi ends oath in Parliament with slogans of 'Allahu Akbar', ‘Jai Palestine’

NEW DELHI: Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), took the oath as the Member of Parliament from Hyderabad, marking his fifth term in this role.
This time, Owaisi's oath drew significant attention. After delivering his oath in Urdu, he concluded with the slogans “Jai Palestine,” and “Allah hu Akbar,” highlighting his unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, as reported by Indian media..
Following his oath, Owaisi posted on X, saying, "Sworn in as member of Lok Sabha for the fifth time. Inshallah, I will continue to raise issues of India’s marginalized with sincerity.”

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Owaisi defeated BJP candidate Madhavi Latha by a substantial margin in the Hyderabad constituency. The AIMIM president won with a record-breaking margin of 338,087 votes, surpassing his previous records. Owaisi secured 661,981 votes, while the BJP candidate received 323,894 votes. The Congress candidate, Mohammed Waliullah Sameer, garnered 62,962 votes.
The Hyderabad seat witnessed a voter turnout of 48.48 percent, with the highest turnout of 54.72 percent recorded in the Goshamahal assembly segment.
