Two young Muslim men were beaten and paraded on the streets by Indian police over accusations of cow slaughter. A shocking video circulating online shows the boys being forced to chant slogans in praise of the Hindu religion.
The incident took place in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where Salim Mewati and Aaqib Mewati were thrashed with sticks by multiple police officers while bystanders watched the assault.
The victims, despite their injuries, were forced to walk over a kilometer as a police officer repeatedly struck them with a large stick.
During the ordeal, an officer questioned the victims about their occupation. When they responded that they were involved in the cattle trade, the officer threatened them, asking why they engaged in such a business.

Earlier, a Muslim man was assaulted by a mob in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday, following allegations that he had slaughtered a cow.
The incident ultimately led to the man's death the following day, as reported by The Indian Express.
According to police, a group of unidentified individuals apprehended the man, Shahedeen Qureshi, while he was allegedly slaughtering a cow at the Mandi Samiti premises in the early hours of Monday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ran Vijay Singh stated that Qureshi had three accomplices who fled the scene when the mob arrived, as noted by the Hindustan Times.
The police official indicated that a cow carcass was discovered at the location.
Reports indicate that the mob attacked Qureshi with sticks and rods. A police team subsequently intervened, rescuing him from the mob and transporting him to a hospital.
Unfortunately, Qureshi succumbed to his injuries early on Tuesday. His brother, Mohammed Alam, lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the filing of a murder case against unidentified individuals under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this case.
