A woman was allegedly molested by ambulance workers in Uttar Pradesh while accompanying her critically ill husband to the hospital.
The shocking incident occurred on August 30 in the Siddharthnagar district, where the woman claimed the workers not only assaulted her but also removed her husband's oxygen support and threw both of them out of the ambulance.
Her husband, Harish, was undergoing treatment after falling seriously ill and had been referred to another hospital by doctors at Basti Medical College. However, due to financial constraints, the woman decided to take her husband home for further treatment.
During the ambulance ride, the driver forced her to sit in the front seat and, along with his aide, allegedly molested her. When she resisted and shouted for help, the workers cut off her husband’s oxygen supply, leading to his further deterioration.
The woman also reported that the ambulance driver stole her jewelry. After being thrown out of the vehicle, the woman called her brother and narrated the harrowing ordeal, prompting him to inform the police. Her husband was later taken to the Gorakhpur Medical College, but despite receiving treatment, he passed away.
The victim also alleged that the police were slow to act and did not immediately arrest the ambulance driver and his accomplice. She has since filed a written complaint at Ghazipur police station in Lucknow, demanding justice. Additional Director General of Police, Jitendra Dubey, confirmed that a case has been registered and assured that necessary actions are being taken to investigate the allegations.
