Israel has formally joined Trump’s “Board of Peace” plan for Gaza, PM Netanyahu announced the agreement during his recent visit to Washington.

According to visuals released from the meeting, Netanyahu’s and Rubio are seen holding a document bearing Netanyahu’s signature confirming Israel’s accession to the board.

The Board of Peace, reportedly, was authorized by a UN Security Council resolution which established the body as a transitional administration tasked with coordinating reconstruction and stabilization efforts for war-torn Gaza.

Moreover, the resolution also permits the board to oversee a temporary international stabilization team for Gaza.

The board’s first meeting is scheduled for February 19 in Washington and will focus on rebuilding Gaza and fundraising for reconstruction.

However, the plan has drawn criticism from analysts and rights experts who argue that a foreign-led body supervising Gaza could resemble a colonial-style arrangement and potentially sideline the United Nations.

Several countries have hesitated or declined to join, including some Western allies.

Although the board has been formed to oversee Gaza’s postwar administration, Trump has indicated the board could later expand its role to address conflicts in other regions.
