Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accompanied by his military, raided a Palestinian home in the north West Bank and ordered an escalation of military operations in the occupied territory.

A picture of Netanyahu sitting with his soldiers, with an Israeli flag attached to the wall of a Palestinian home in Tulkarem, was widely shared in the media.

His visit to the West Bank followed multiple bus explosions in Tel Aviv. While the blasts resulted in no casualties, they prompted Israeli officials to intensify their offensive in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Netanyahu had previously entered the eastern part of the occupied West Bank in September 2022 to visit the Jordanian border.

Hours before Netanyahu’s visit, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had also visited the same home.

“We are destroying entire streets, eliminating militants, and I have ordered reinforcements in the West Bank along with additional military operations,” Netanyahu’s office stated following the bus attacks on Thursday.

On the same day, explosive devices detonated in three empty buses in Bat Yam and Holon, near Tel Aviv. The incident was described as a suspected terror attack, but Israeli authorities did not hold Palestinian fighters responsible.

Offensive and violent raids are not uncommon, as Israel continues to harass and attack innocent Palestinians in the occupied West Bank after ceasefire in Gaza.

It is important to note that the Israeli army has intensified its raids in the West Bank following the ceasefire in Gaza in January.

Meanwhile, Israeli settlers continue their violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, torching cars and attacking businesses.

According to The Associated Press (AP), Israeli forces have also increased checkpoints at multiple locations, restricting the movement of Palestinians at several crossings during certain hours.

The UN humanitarian agency (OCHA) reported that Israel has established 249 additional checkpoints in the West Bank since the start of its war on Gaza, bringing the total to 793 checkpoints.

These measures have severely disrupted the daily lives of Palestinians, who continue to face restrictions and violence without justification.

Israeli forces also launched offensives in refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas, killing more than 30 Palestinians as of Februry 17.

Since October 7, Israeli army and settlers have killed over 920 Palesitnians and injured at least 7,000 in the occupied West Bank.
