The Palestinian government's information office in Gaza has reported that 1.7 million Palestinians have been displaced due to relentless air and artillery strikes by the Israeli military.
The strikes have caused widespread destruction and forced countless families to leave their homes, marking a severe escalation in the ongoing conflict.
The office's statement highlighted that the Israeli army continues to carry out what it described as "the most heinous crimes" against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
These include forced displacement, with residents being threatened, bombed, and subjected to attacks with weapons considered internationally prohibited, actions that the office condemned as crimes against humanity.
According to the statement, the Israeli military is intentionally squeezing Palestinian citizens into a small area that is only a fraction of the Gaza Strip's total size, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. The situation has been further aggravated by evacuation orders issued by Israeli forces, compelling residents of southern Gaza to flee, despite United Nations warnings that no area in Gaza remains safe or livable.
The ongoing conflict and forced displacement have drawn international concern and criticism, as the humanitarian toll on the Palestinian population continues to rise.
