Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted for arrest by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes in Gaza, extended birthday wishes to his “friend,” Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he turned 75 today, according to Indian media.

Taking to X, Netanyahu shared a video expressing his felicitations for Modi, saying, “Prime Minister Modi, my good friend Narendra, I want to wish you a happy birthday. You have accomplished so much for India in your life, and and together we have accomplished a great deal in the friendship between Israel and India.”

He also expressed hope of taking bilateral ties and cooperation to “new heights.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged birthday greetings from US President Donald Trump.

Posting on X, Modi wrote, “My friend President Trump, thank you for your phone call and warm greetings. I am as determined as you are to take the India-US comprehensive and global partnership to new heights.” He also expressed support for Trump’s efforts toward a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.

While Trump frequently praises his friendship with Modi, tensions remain over punitive tariffs imposed on India for purchasing Russian oil, straining relations between the two countries despite ongoing diplomatic exchanges.
