A Nigerian pilgrim has given birth to a baby boy in Makkah and named him Muhammad, marking the first birth of this year's Hajj season.

According to Arab media, the first Hajj baby of the season was born at Makkah's Maternity and Children's Hospital.

The 30-year-old Nigerian woman was admitted to the hospital's emergency room at 31 weeks of pregnancy due to severe labor pain.

Despite the premature birth, the mother's condition is said to be improving, with the baby receiving care at a Makkah hospital.

The Nigerian pilgrim expressed her appreciation to the medical team who assisted her delivery.

Every year during Hajj, Makkah's maternity hospital welcomes numerous births, and the hospital staff ensures proper care for the infants and mothers.

Hajj takes place once a year in Zil Hajj, the twelfth and last month of the Islamic calendar.

Thousands of pilgrims from Muslim countries around the world converge on Makkah to perform the sacred pilgrimage. The pilgrimage begins on the 8th of Zil Hajj and concludes on the 13th.

As one of the Five Pillars of Islam, Hajj is a pilgrimage open to all Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it at least once.
