Over 170 Palestinians are being killed by Israel every day

The death toll from the Israeli attack targeted a vehicle near a shelter housing displaced Palestinians north of Deir el-Balah has risen to eight, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday.

Palestine Health Ministry said that at least 36,550 have been killed in the ongoing genocide in Gaza by Israel since October 7.

According to the ministry, as many as 82,959 people have also been wounded in the one-sided war.

As per the details provided by the publication, almost 174 Palestinians are being killed by Israel every day in the worn-torn region.

United Nations rights chief Volker Turk said the norms and standards on the conduct of the war were violated brutally in Gaza.

Talking to the media in Malaysia, he termed the situation in Gaza “beyond catastrophic”.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that Israel has proposed a three-phase ceasefire plan for Hamas, which includes halting attacks, returning hostages, and initiating a reconstruction plan for Gaza.

However, Qatar, which is the mediator between Israel and Palestine, said that they have not received any “concrete approvals” of ceasefire from either side.

“We have already seen statements coming from Israeli ministers which doesn’t give us a lot of confidence of there being a unified position on Israel in Israel over this current proposal on the table,” Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari.

“We can see also that there is a positive momentum building up on both sides,” he added.

“The Israeli government is meeting right now and there are discussions over accepting the proposals on the table .. we need to, as an international community to put pressure on both sides to accept the proposals on the ground and end this immediately, which would only happen with all of us working together to make sure that both sides understand they need to get a deal done right now.”

The Israeli genocide in Gaza is still ongoing, which continues to escalate the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.
