Palestinian writer Mosa Abu Toha confronted Oscar-nominated actor James Woods, a staunch Zionist, over his continued support for the genocide in Gaza, drawing a parallel to the destruction of Woods’ own home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
In a recent interview, James Woods broke down in tears over the destruction of his house in the wildfires.
Mosa Abu Toha took to X to write an open letter to the Hollywood actor, sharing pictures of the devastation in Gaza alongside an image of Woods from an interview where he broke down while discussing the loss of his home in the fire.
“When our house was bombed on October 28, 2023, I did not have a house or a safe place to go on the air and watch it b0mbed,” Mosa reminded Woods.
He further explained that he has not been able to return to the ruins of his home because his city remains under occupation. He added that his friend, who was helping recover what little remained of his books, was killed in January 2024.
“His name was Ma’rouf Al-Ashqar. He had a sweet voice and was an avid reader of Russian literature, especially Dostoevsky,” Mosa wrote.
“Does this bother you?” he asked Woods.
Mosa continued, “My aunt’s house was bombed in October 2024. Her daughter was killed along with another 15 people, many still buried under the rubble to this day. Does this mean anything to you?
“How dare you get on the air and cry?” he questioned Woods, criticising the actor for publicly grieving his loss while supporting the Israel’s war on Gaza, killing thousands of innocent Palestinians.
One last letter to James Woods:
