An Israeli airstrike late Sunday night targeted the Fahmi Al-Jarjawi School in Gaza, killing at least 25 Palestinians, including several children, and injuring dozens more. The school was being used as a shelter for displaced families.

According to Gaza’s civil defence officials, the explosion sparked a massive fire that engulfed nearby tents. Harrowing footage captured the moment a young girl attempted to escape the blaze.

Officials reported that nearly half of the school was destroyed, with widespread damage to surrounding areas. Many individuals remain trapped under the rubble, and rescue operations are currently underway.

Gaza authorities have urged the international community to take immediate action to halt ongoing Israeli war crimes. Under International Humanitarian Law (IHL), including the Geneva Conventions, deliberate attacks on civilians or civilian infrastructure are strictly prohibited.

Despite these legal protections, Israel continues its genocide with apparent impunity.

Global human rights groups and activists have condemned the inaction of international bodies and criticised powerful nations for continuing to supply weapons to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for launching a missile toward Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport. The Israeli military said it intercepted the projectile before it could cause harm.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen. According to the World Food Programme, more than 70,000 children in the territory are now facing acute malnutrition, as Israel permits only a minimal flow of humanitarian aid into the devastated region.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 53,939 Palestinians have been killed and 122,797 injured in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023.
