Northern Gaza witnessed horrific scenes as Palestinians were burned alive in their tents after an Israeli airstrike on the grounds of Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital ignited a massive fire, killing at least four people and injuring 70 others.
Social media was flooded with videos of the aftermath, showing gruesome images of people, including children, charred inside their tents.
Palestinian journalists were devastated, describing the scene as something they had never witnessed before.
One video captured the heart-wrenching moment of a man engulfed in flames, with an IV attached to him, as he burned amid the raging fire in his camp.
According to Al Jazeera, 20 to 30 tents continued to burn at the medical facility in Deir al-Balah for over an hour, with no immediate help, as rescue teams were called from other areas of Gaza.
People inside the hospital also reported hearing large explosions as the fire rapidly consumed tents made of plastic and nylon.
The death toll is expected to rise due to the severity of the attack.
The heinous assault on innocent Palestinians sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning powerful Western countries and international organisations for their complacency in allowing Israeli war crimes to go unpunished.
The Israeli army has intensified its attacks on the enclave despite the orders of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to cease military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least 42,979 with more than 98,464 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
