Funeral prayers were offered at Doha’s central grand mosque on Thursday for those killed in the recent Israeli airstrike that targeted a Hamas meeting in the Qatari capital.
The prayers drew a large number of mourners, including Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, senior government officials, relatives of the victims and citizens from across the city.
According to international media reports, the atmosphere was somber and emotional as participants prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and laid the bodies to rest.
Witnesses described heart-wrenching scenes as mourners wept openly during the burial. Following the funeral, participants raised slogans condemning Israeli aggression and expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza.
Many stressed that the attack in Doha had claimed innocent lives and underscored the need for stronger international action to curb Israeli strikes and protect civilians.
Qatari authorities confirmed that the identities of all those killed had been established and that the victims were being buried in various local cemeteries with full state honors.
Security officials ensured the funeral and subsequent burials were conducted in a dignified and peaceful manner.
The government also announced financial assistance and comprehensive support — including psychological counseling and housing aid — for affected families, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to stand by the victims’ relatives and provide every possible form of relief.
