Renowned Yemeni Scholar Dr Ali Mohammed Al-Thannani passes away while teaching Quran

A prominent Yemeni Quran teacher and Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dr Ali Mohammed Al-Thannani, passed away suddenly while teaching the Holy Quran.

Footage capturing his final moments before his death has surfaced and is circulating widely on social media.

In the viral video, the Yemeni scholar can be seen engaged in Quranic instruction in Yemen’s Marib province when he suddenly closes his eyes and collapses from his chair.

According to international media reports, Sheikh Dr Ali Al-Thannani was supervising students memorising the Quran at the Noor Mosque in the Ramlah area.

He was attentively listening to a student’s recitation, with a copy of the Holy Qur’an in his hands, when he passed away.

It is worth noting that the late scholar held a PhD degree, which he had earned with academic distinction.
