It has been revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and federal prosecutors in the United States have initiated an initial probe into the Argentine Football Association (AFA) on allegations of money laundering and bank fraud relating to transactions processed through the country.

Reports citing *La Nación* from Argentina say that investigators are looking into the financial operations of the AFA under the presidency of Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia.

It is being investigated whether hundreds of millions of dollars related to the deals of the association internationally were processed through the financial system of the United States in contravention of federal laws.

The investigation is centered on TourProdEnter LLC based in Florida, a firm that reportedly served as a collecting agent for the AFA in the dealings abroad.

Reports citing bank documents say that the firm has collected at least $260 million from the AFA, while the investigators are looking at the transactions of firms that have provided no identifiable services.

The investigation is at its preliminary stage and authorities are analyzing the existence of enough proof to conduct a full-fledged criminal investigation. At the moment, no criminal complaint has been lodged against the AFA, its officials, or Tour Prod Enter.

Neither the FBI nor the U.S. Department of Justice has publicly confirmed the reported investigation. The Argentine Football Association has also not issued an official statement responding to the allegations.

The reports have drawn international attention as Argentina's football governing body continues to oversee one of the world's most successful national teams. However, the allegations remain unproven, and the reported inquiry does not imply wrongdoing by the AFA or any individuals involved.
