Tens of thousands of people in Pakistan, including the business community and political parties, staged protests on Saturday to express solidarity with the people of Palestine, who have faced Israeli oppression for years.
The protest was staged at the call of Jamaat-e-Islami, aiming to voice opposition against Israeli atrocities in Gaza, which have left 52,210 people killed, 124,466 injured, and at least 897 in Israeli prisons.
The business communities in Rawalpindi, Murree, Pakpattan, Kot Addu, Tando Muhammad Khan, Karachi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa observed a complete shutter-down strike, with trading activities in wholesale and retail markets suspended.

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that Pakistan would not tolerate genocide in Palestine.
Rehman strongly condemned Israel's actions and the US strategy towards Palestine, calling on the international community to intervene to save Palestinians from Israeli oppression.
Like other cities in the country, a shutter-down strike was held in Karachi to express solidarity with the Palestinians.
All small and large business centres and shops were closed, while traffic on the roads was also lighter than usual.

A political party staged a sit-in in support of Palestine on Korangi Crossing Road, due to which the road was closed to traffic. The protesters blocked the roads by burning tires.
Traffic police said that due to the road closure, traffic was being diverted from Godam Chowrangi and Nasir Jump to Chamra Chowrangi.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the Pakistani nation cannot tolerate the genocide of Palestinians and should express love for them while condemning Israel and America.
