Muslims across the globe will be able to fix the direction of Qibla simply by facing the sun on Monday as it will align directly over the Holy Kaaba at Makkah.
Saudi Astronomical Society (SAS) Supervising Engineer Majid Al-Zahra said the sun will pass directly over the top of the Holy Kaaba in Saudi Arabia at 12:18 pm local time.
"A man facing the sun [at that moment] will be heading to the Qibla with an accuracy of 100%," he added.
The celestial phenomenon is called “zero shadow” as the sun will be at 90 degrees.
The sun passes directly over the Kaaba twice a year on May 27 and July 15.
