The controversy surrounding the Epstein files has intensified following a new revelation that US President Donald Trump’s name appears in one of the investigative documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The WSJ report claims that US Attorney General Pam Bondi privately informed Trump in May that his name had surfaced in the Epstein files.

This development could spell political trouble for Trump as calls for the release of the remaining sealed documents grow louder, not just from Democrats, but also from within Trump’s own support base.

While the White House initially dismissed the reports as false, an unnamed official later told Reuters that the administration did not explicitly deny Trump's name being mentioned in the documents, further fueling speculation.

Democratic leaders have urged Attorney General Bondi to publicly release the full set of Epstein-related files that she compiled earlier this year in February.

Trump, once known to have had a friendly relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted in a child sex trafficking scandal before dying by suicide in prison, has never faced legal charges in connection with the case.

However, critics and political opponents continue to question the nature of his association with Epstein.

Adding to the scrutiny, a pilot of Epstein’s private jet previously confirmed that Trump had flown aboard the aircraft multiple times. Moreover, the names of Trump and some of his family members were found in Epstein’s contact book.

Notably, Trump had earlier pledged to declassify the Epstein files, but the U.S. Justice Department later stated that no further investigation into the matter was necessary — a decision that has frustrated some of Trump’s supporters, who are now calling on him to clear his name.

While many documents related to the Epstein case have been released to the public, several remain undisclosed, keeping the controversy alive.
