Despite Israel's relentless bombing in Gaza, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Jordan have recorded an increase in trade with Tel Aviv in eight months.
According to a report by Israel's Central Bureau of State Statistics, Egypt's exports to Israel have doubled in 2024 compared to last year, reaching $25 million in May 2024.
The surge in Egyptian exports to Israel is attributed to cooperation in the energy and security sectors, with natural gas exports from Tel Aviv to Cairo increasing since October 2023.
Jordan's exports to Israel have also seen a notable increase, rising from $32.3 million in May 2023 to $35.7 million in May 2024.
The UAE's exports to Israel have increased from $238 million in May 2023 to $242 million in May 2024, indicating a strengthening of economic ties between the two nations.
However, Turkey's exports to Israel have halved in the said period, dropping from $376.6 million in May 2023 to $116.8 million in May 2024, which reflects the strained relationship between the two countries.
Israel has been bombing Gaza since October 7, killing, injuring and displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
Palestine Health Ministry said that at least 37,372, have been killed in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
According to the ministry, as many as 82,959 people have also been wounded in the one-sided war.
