The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advisory for Pakistan, urging British citizens to exercise caution or avoid traveling to several areas due to ongoing security concerns.
The advisory highlights the elevated risks in regions near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, advising against travel within 10 miles of the border.
The FCDO has also recommended avoiding specific areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Bannu, Bajaur, Chārsadda, Buner, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Lower Dir, Mohmand, Orakzai, Peshawar, Swat, North Waziristan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan, and Lower South Waziristan.
Additionally, British nationals have been warned not to travel on the Karakoram Highway between Mansehra and Chilas, or the N45 Highway from Mardan to Chitral, which includes the Kalash Valley.
The advisory further restricts travel to Balochistan, advising against visiting most areas of the province, except for the southern coast.
Essential travel is allowed to the southern Balochistan region south of the N10 Motorway and a portion of the N25 leading to the Balochistan-Sindh border, including the port city of Gwadar.
The FCDO continues to monitor the situation and urges travelers to stay informed of the latest developments before planning trips to these regions.
