Woman draped in Palestinian flag sets self on fire outside Israel consulate in US

A woman protester, who set herself on fire at the Israeli consulate in the US state of Georgia, is battling for life at a hospital.
According to media reports, the protester, said to be draped in the Palestinian flag, burned herself by using petrol. A Palestinian flag was found at the scene. The protester arrived at 12:17 local time (17:17 GMT).
A security guard, who attempted to intervene was also injured and suffered burns to the wrist and leg. Both the protester and the guard were taken to a local hospital.
Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said, "We believe this building remains safe and we do not see any threat here, we believe this was an act of political protest."
The consul general of Israel to the south-east US, Anat Sultan-Dadon, said in a statement "It is tragic to see the hate and incitement toward Israel expressed in such a horrific way."
“Saddened to learn of the self-immolation at the entrance to the office building," she added.
On Monday morning, Israel resumed bombardment in Gaza after a seven-day ceasefire.
Nearly 15,000 people have been killed in Israel's operation in Gaza, according to its Hamas-run health ministry.
The war has prompted hundreds of protests in support of Palestinians, across the US.
