Muslims, humanitarian organisations, and social media users have expressed their anger over the hateful remarks about the deaths of Palestinians made by US Congressman, Andy Ogles.
His odious comments came when the republican representative was approached by a group of pro-Palestine activists in Washington.
"I’ve seen the footage of shredded children’s bodies. That’s my taxpayer dollars. You are going to bomb those kids,” an activist asked Ogles.
In response, he replied: "You know what? So, I think we should kill them all if that makes you feel better."
Following his cruel remarks, a wave of anger erupted across the world, with Muslim countries denouncing hateful statement.
In a statement, the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) said 'such rhetoric is not only abhorrent but also antithetical to Americas' values as a state.'
"It is such rhetoric that has continued to foster a political climate where extremist ideologies flourish, empowering neo-Nazis to openly parade through our streets and allowing genocidal sentiments to go unchallenged," it added.
AMAC strongly termed the act intolerable, writing "As citizens of Tennessee, we deserve better representation from those elected to office."
The genocide being carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza has entered its fifth month with, on average, a child being killed every 10 minutes and almost the entire population of the occupied enclave becoming homeless.
On October 7, news emerged that Hamas had bulldozed the wall that imprisoned Gaza's 2.3 million population. Gaza, surrounded by Israel's apartheid wall, remains isolated from the rest of the world and faces a debilitating siege.
As of now, over 29,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in strikes on Gaza.
