Muslim boy forced to change gender to girl for marriage in India

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old Muslim boy, named Mujahid, was allegedly forced to undergo gender reassignment surgery by his friend Omprakash in Muzaffarnagar area of Uttar Pradesh, India.

According to Mujahid, Omprakash had been threatening and harassing him for two years.

On June 3, Mujahid was taken to a local hospital Begrajpur Medical College in Mansoorpur, where he was given anesthesia and underwent a sex reassignment operation to remove his testicles, allegedly with the connivance of doctors.

Mujahid claimed that when he awoke after the operation, Omprakash told him he had been transformed from a boy to a girl and threatened to shoot his father if he didn't comply with his demands.

Omprakash allegedly forced Mujahid to agree to a court marriage, claiming that his family and community would no longer accept him after sex reassignment surgery.

Local farmers protested outside the medical college, demanding immediate action against the suspect and the involved doctors, and a compensation of at least Rs20 million for the victim.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and arrested the main culprit.

Senior police officer Ramesh Yadav assured that all allegations will be thoroughly investigated.
