The federal government has raised tariffs on a wide range of imported beauty and makeup products in Finance Bill 2024-25.
A notification confirms that duties on 657 such items have been increased following approval from the National Assembly.
Under the new measures, makeup and beauty products will face a 40% hike in duties, while perfumes and sprays will see a 20% increase. Conversely, tariffs on imported hair clippers and hair dryers have been reduced to 10%.
Imported watches, smartwatches, and sunglasses are also set to undergo significant duty increases, as outlined in the notification.
Additionally, the government has raised regulatory duties on numerous imported items across various categories, ranging from 5% to 55%, under the Finance Bill 2024.
This adjustment reflects the government's efforts to manage fiscal policies and import dynamics in the upcoming financial year.
