Gold prices in Pakistan surged significantly on Monday, mirroring a strong upward trend in the international market.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs6,944, reaching Rs306,755. The price of one tola of gold rose by Rs8,100, now standing at Rs357,800.

The sharp rise in local gold rates follows a $69 increase in the global gold price, which now stands at $3,395 per ounce.

This increase comes after gold prices had dropped over the weekend. On Saturday, domestic rates fell by Rs800 per tola, bringing the price down to Rs318,000, while the price for 10 grams dropped by Rs686 to Rs272,633.

At the same time, the international gold rate fell to $3,022 per ounce (including a $20 premium), showing a $9 decrease for the day.

Despite the volatility in gold prices over recent days, silver prices in Pakistan remained unchanged, with one tola priced at Rs3,475.
