Director General Civil Aviation Authority  has announced that passengers from smaller cities such as Sukkur, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Peshawar, and Gwadar will soon enjoy enhanced air travel facilities.

The initiative aims to provide better options for travelers who currently depend on buses, trains, and cars for long journeys across the country, from the north to the south.

During a press conference, Dar addressed various issues related to Pakistan's aviation industry, marking his first official briefing since the CAA was restructured into two separate departments.

Dar revealed that airports in smaller cities, including Sukkur, Multan, Faisalabad, and Sialkot, as well as more remote areas like Gwadar, Gilgit, and Skardu, will soon offer regular air services.

An established airline has already sought permission to operate smaller aircraft on these routes, with plans to commence flights in early 2025, accommodating a maximum of 40 to 50 passengers.

Initially, the airline will deploy at least three small aircraft, with services expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
