At least 70 people were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center and Civil Hospital Karachi due to heat-related diseases in last four days, health officials confirmed on Monday.

Medical Superintendent CHK Dr Nizam said that 67 patients were brought to the medical facility.

64 heatwave-affected were discharged from CHK while three were undergoing treatment, he added.

“Most of them were elderly people and already dealing with various diseases, they all had fever, all were affected from hot weather but not suffering from heat stroke,” Nizam informed.

The health official said that high fever, low blood pressure, and other diseases were emerging due to the hot weather, 

He advised Karachhites to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor meetings during the heatwave-like conditions.

JPMC emergency in-charge confirmed that three people affected by the hot weather were shifted to the hospital.

The Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) predicted a partial heat wave in the port city for two days. 

The feels-like temperature in the metropolis reached 51 degree Celsius today, however, the maximum mercury was recorded at 41 degree Celsius.
