Pakistan has marked a groundbreaking step in healthcare with the inauguration of its first Coablation Cancer Treatment Centre in Punjab, introducing a revolutionary treatment method that eliminates the need for chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

For the first time in the country, cancer patients can be cured within just 60 minutes without undergoing the painful conventional therapies.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the centre and, in her address, said that Punjab has become the pioneer in modern cancer treatment in Pakistan.

She emphasized that this advanced procedure allows free-of-cost treatment without chemotherapy, making the province a leader in cancer care.

Maryam Nawaz revealed that the cutting-edge machine, imported from China, is not available anywhere else in the region outside of China.

“This technology offers patients a painless and swift cure, bringing immense hope to those battling cancer,” she remarked.

She further explained that the machine costs PKR 250 million, while each probe is valued at USD 5,500. To ensure accessibility, the provincial government has allocated PKR 5 billion, guaranteeing free treatment for patients unable to afford it.

“Providing the best healthcare facilities to the people is our top priority. We are also preparing to test this technology for kidney tumor treatments,” she added.

The Chief Minister recalled that during her recent visit to China, she personally reviewed the medical facilities and witnessed the one-hour cancer treatment process, after which she ordered its introduction in Punjab.

For training purposes, Dr. Shehzad was sent to China, where he received specialized training in operating the advanced equipment.
