Acclaimed Indian filmmaker Karan Johar reminisced about the filming of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" and paid tribute to the actors, expressing that crafting the blockbuster film was among his most cherished experiences.

While showering praise on Indian actors, Karan neglected to acknowledge Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan's cameo, who portrayed Ali in the film opposite Anushka Sharma's character, Saba.

He shared behind-the-scenes snapshots with the cast of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," accompanied by a heartfelt caption in which he delved into his personal experiences of love and heartbreak, which he incorporated into the narrative.

"Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will forever hold a special place in my heart. It encapsulates my journey of love, grappling with unrequited feelings, and the resilience we exhibit in the face of heartbreak. The filming experience of 'ADHM' remains one of my most fulfilling on-set experiences," Karan explained why the film holds such significance for him.

He also elaborated on his observation of the prominent actors of the film, particularly highlighting the "Ranbir process" and how casting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma elevated the movie's impact.

Pakistani fans, recalling Fawad Khan's commendable performance in the Indian film, flooded Karan Johar's Instagram post with comments questioning his omission of Fawad while acknowledging the other three stars.

“Caption is so beautiful but not a single line for Fawad?? Why Karan??” a comment read.

“How smoothly you skipped mentioning Fawad Khan.. Surely it wouldn’t have been that damaging? Disappointed here in Lahore,” an Instagram user wrote.

Previously, Karan Johar made some remarks about Fawad Khan which reflected that he was not enthusiastic about working with him.

In 2017, during a conversation with Pakistani film director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, when she hinted at the possibility of seeing Fawad directed by Karan again, he responded cryptically, stating, “It was a tough time for me. I don't think I would want to repeat that experience ever.”

He expressed his desire for Fawad to explore a more suitable platform to showcase his remarkable acting skills.

In 2018, during an episode of "Koffee with Karan," Sonam Kapoor appeared with her brother Harshvardhan. When she asked about her best on-screen pairing, her brother, Harshvardhan mentioned Fawad Khan's name, to which Sonam added, "But Karan sent him back."

Karan chose to ignore her comments and proceeded to ask another name, in response Sonam said, “Salman Khan” as her preferred on-screen partner.
