KMKT fans criticise Naeema Butt after she claims of being sidelined by hit series cast

Actor Naeema Butt created a stir after she revealed that while the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum (KMKT) cast were friendly on set, she later felt sidelined by the very co-stars she had shared the screen with.

Butt, who won hearts with her portrayal of Rubab in KMKT, appeared on a show where she was asked whether people in the entertainment industry truly exchange pleasantries on a personal level.

In response, Naeema remarked that interactions in the industry are mostly “surface level.” Host Vasay Chaudhry then asked if the public displays of support on social media are just to deceive people.

To this, Naeema replied, “Yes, it’s actually to make people fool.”

Reflecting on her experience, she said, “When I worked on KMKT, I thought my colleagues were very supportive and encouraging, especially since I hadn’t done many dramas. But that was just my perception, the reality was very different.”

She added that while the cast seemed sweet during filming, things changed once the cameras stopped rolling. “They didn’t treat me the same way off-camera and didn’t even allow me to share the stage with them.”

However, Naeema views the experience as a learning opportunity. “It happened for a good reason. I learned a lesson; people who express love and support on social media often don’t behave the same way in real life.”

She further shared, “Popular personalities just want to create an impression that they are secure and supportive. But it’s okay, everyone is playing their game.”

Following her comments, the internet became divided. While some supported Naeema and appreciated her honesty, others, particularly fans of the KMKT cast, accused her of seeking attention by speaking behind her co-stars' backs.
