Another young girl fell into an open manhole in Karachi, but a passerby at the scene acted swiftly and saved her life.
The incident occurred in Karachi’s Manghopir area near Garam Chashma, where a first-grade student of a private school fell into an uncovered manhole.
A passerby immediately rescued the girl from the open manhole.
The child has been identified as Anaya Ameen. She was returning home from school after dismissal when she fell into the manhole.
It is worth noting that on Sunday night, a 3-year-old boy, Ibrahim, fell into a manhole near Nipa Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, outside a private departmental store. A heartbreaking video of the child’s mother went viral on social media.
Family members and local residents arranged machinery on their own and began searching for the child, but even after an entire night, he could not be found.
On Monday, nearly 14 hours after the incident, a local youth discovered the child’s body about one kilometer away in a stormwater drain.
Two days after the incident, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab visited Ibrahim’s house, accepted responsibility for the tragedy, and apologized to the grieving family.
