Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi has expressed his support for a potential high-profile match between the champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

While acknowledging the political and security challenges that currently prevent such a fixture, Sethi remains optimistic about the possibility of the match if the situation improves.

In a recent interview with Express News' Saleem Khaliq, Sethi discussed the idea of an IPL-PSL clash, noting that if diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan ease, it could become a reality. "If the situation improves, I think there should be a team of IPL champions and a PSL champion,” Sethi said.

Sethi, who played a key role in developing the PSL, also spoke about expanding the league into international markets. He proposed hosting matches in the United States and the United Kingdom to reach broader cricket audiences and increase financial sustainability. "There is no problem at all with expanding the league,” he said, adding that games in the USA or UK could financially benefit the PSL.

He emphasised the importance of expanding the league's global reach and attracting new fans and sponsors. "We should explore such options,” Sethi stated, reinforcing his vision for the PSL to gain international visibility and financial viability.
