A four-member committee has been established by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Karachi West, Irfan Baloch, to investigate the murder of seven-year-old Sarim, whose post-mortem report revealed shocking details of rape, torture, and strangulation.

Sarim's body was  discovered in an underground water tank near his residence in North Karachi, 11 days after he went missing on January 7. The police reported that the water tank's lid was covered with a carton, and the medical report confirmed that Sarim was strangled to death with a broken neck and multiple injury marks on his body.

SSP Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Anil Haider stated that Sarim was kidnapped, raped, tortured, and murdered, and his body was thrown into the water tank five days ago. The police have taken a close relative of the child into custody for further investigation, and a DNA test is being conducted.
