Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Saturday strongly condemned the recent wave of violent attacks on an international fast-food chain across Pakistan, calling the acts un-Islamic and a direct threat to foreign investment and public order.

“Since last week, there have been repeated attacks on a fast-food business. Let it be clear—we will take strict action against the attackers,” Chaudhry told reporters.

The minister said that such violence has no justification in Islam. “Any attack on a business is un-Islamic, and spreading hatred against commercial entities is unjustified,” he said.

Reassuring citizens and business owners, Chaudhry affirmed that the government is actively fulfilling its duty to protect lives and property. “We will not allow anyone to take the law into their hands,” he added.

The minister revealed that law enforcement agencies have arrested 142 suspects in connection with violent incidents reported across Punjab. “Most of them are now remorseful for their actions,” he noted.

Additionally, 15 individuals were taken into custody in Islamabad for their involvement in two separate vandalism incidents.

Chaudhry reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding foreign investment, stating, “Those investing in Pakistan are our pride. Any attack on foreign investment is completely unacceptable.”

He disclosed that the targeted food chain has invested over $100 million in Pakistan and condemned the attacks as “shameful and against the national interest.”
