At least 30 terrorists were killed during an intelligence-driven operation (IBO) by security forces in South Waziristan’s Sararogha region, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Tuesday.

The February 17 operation targeted terrorist hideouts, with security forces launching a precise assault, neutralizing the militants.

A clearance operation is ongoing to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats.

The military’s latest success comes in response to rising militant attacks.

Last week, an operation in North Waziristan led to the killing of six terrorists, but also resulted in the martyrdom of four Pakistani soldiers, including Lt. Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf.

Pakistan has witnessed a sharp escalation in terrorist activities, with 74 attacks recorded in January 2025, marking a 42% increase from the previous month, according to PICSS.

The surge in violence has particularly affected KP and Balochistan, with law enforcement personnel being the primary targets.

The security forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate terrorism, as nationwide operations intensify to restore peace and stability.
