An audio recording has recently emerged, exposing an alleged private conversation between Lt. Gen. (R) Faiz Hameed, the former head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and Absar Alam, the ex-Chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
In the alleged leaked audio, Faiz Hameed pressures Absar Alam to resolve licensing issues for two long-standing TV channels, questioning why his requests haven’t been addressed, to which Alam expresses willingness to cooperate.
The discussion was about some channels licenses, Hameed mentioned sending Brigadier Ghaffar to follow up on the situation.
Alam was taken, noting that such a demand had not been made before.
Hameed then emphasizes that numerous requests have been made previously, urging Alam to address the issue promptly, and states that Brigadier Ghaffar will be reaching out to provide additional details.
