A Muslim woman who had lived in the US decided to move to Pakistan, saying that as a Muslim she wanted to return to her roots. She felt that Muslims had contributed their talents to strengthen Western nations instead of dedicating their skills to their own countries.
Recently, Dialogue Pakistan interviewed the woman, who emphasised that her move to Pakistan was entirely voluntary. She explained that she was motivated by a sense of duty to serve fellow Muslims, especially those living in distress while the West sides with oppression.
The woman took part in a protest supporting the activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was intercepted by Israel, leading to the abduction of over 400 people aboard the vessels by the occupying forces.
The woman, an influencer on Instagram known as Umme Qa’qaa, the American Muhajirah, highlighted how the West has benefited from Muslim talent and contributions while continuing to oppress Muslim nations. She also criticised Muslims for neglecting their service to their own countries.

“This is why I left America. This is why we decided to move to a Muslim country like Pakistan. Everyone loves to complain about why Muslim countries are not doing enough. Why aren’t they acting? Why aren’t our leaders doing this? But what have we done? We depleted our own resources, took away our talents, and strengthened the economies of non-Muslim nations, our oppressors. And now, we are in the state we are in,” she said.
Muslim countries, including Syria, Yemen, Libya, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran, are facing Israeli aggression. Umme Qa’qaa's arguments underscored the alarming rise of Islamophobia, with Western politicians openly ridiculing Sharia and Muslim beliefs.
In 2024, a United Nations report stated that Islamophobia has reached “alarming levels worldwide,” with acts of harassment, intimidation, violence, and incitement sharply increasing.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported in 2025 that hatred against Muslims and Arabs reached its highest levels since 1996. Despite ongoing terrorism and foreign aggression against Muslim communities, the West continues to portray Islam and Muslims as responsible for the world’s problems.
This selective approach to humanity was evident when many Western states refused to acknowledge Israeli war crimes, let alone hold Benjamin Netanyahu and other Zionist leaders accountable for their genocide against Palestinians.
A shocking report by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) also highlighted the acute level of hate against Muslims seeping into Western societies, stating, “Nearly 1 in 2 Muslims (47%) experience racial discrimination.”
Umme Qa’qaa’s remarks serve as a reminder for Muslims to recognise their duty to the community in historically crucial times, when their faith and identity are threatened by the current world order. Ignoring this oppression could lead to disastrous consequences.
