Bangladesh has abolished the special security desk set up to check Pakistani passengers at Dhaka airport.

The Bangladesh government has also removed the condition of additional clearance for Pakistani visa applicants. Bangladesh has also removed the requirement of 100 physical inspections of goods coming from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus met in Cairo. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the D-8 summit in Egypt.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the recent positive developments in bilateral relations and agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked the Bangladeshi government for its recent initiatives to facilitate Pakistan-Bangladesh trade and travel.

Taking to X, PM Shebaz shared a picture with Dr Muhammad Yunus.

“We discussed strengthening historical and cultural ties, increasing trade, and exploring cooperation in IT, chemicals, leather, surgical goods and other sectors. Agreed to enhance people-to-people exchanges and align efforts for mutual development,” his post read.
