Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is set to attend the inauguration ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in a personal capacity.

Well-placed sources confirmed that Bhutto-Zardari has received an official invitation from the Trump administration and will be departing for the US in the coming days to participate in the event.

Alongside Bhutto-Zardari, other world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, have also been invited to attend the inauguration.

The event marks the beginning of Trump’s second term as the 47th President of the United States, following his victory in the November 2024 presidential election.

It is notable that PPP Co-chairman and former Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari attended a similar event in 2017, joining Trump’s pre-inauguration oath ceremony in Washington.

Zardari was accompanied by PPP leaders Rehman Malik (late) and Sherry Rehman at that time.

Trump, who won the 2024 election with a significant margin, is scheduled to take the oath of office at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., next week.

In his victory speech, he expressed gratitude to the American people for granting him an “unprecedented and powerful mandate” to serve as the nation’s 47th president.
