Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday claimed that the authorities have installed CCTV cameras in the washroom and bedroom of party founder Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, at Bani Gala sub-jail.

The former first lady is serving her jail term in Toshakhana and Iddat cases in the said jail.

The claims were made by the ex-prime minister Imran Khan's lawyer, Naeem Haider Panjutha, while speaking to the media in Islamabad.

He urged the court to form a commission to probe the matter, taking action against the authorities allegedly involved in installing cameras.

Panjutha said that Bushra Bibi's privacy was invaded by installing cameras in her washroom and bedroom.

On the other hand, Bushra Bibi has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking the removal of CCTV cameras from the sub-jail.

In the plea, she also requested the court to allow the medical examination of her by the doctors of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) due to the suspicion of poison in her food.

Earlier, Bushra Bibi claimed that someone had mixed three drops of toilet cleaner into her food on the day of Shab-e-Mairaj.

Later, the former prime minister, during the hearing of a £190 million settlement case in Adiala jail, also alleged that Bushra Bibi was poisoned at Bani Gala.

However, the allegations were refuted by the chief medical officer of SKMCH Dr Aasim Yusuf, saying that no evidence of poison was found in the medical examination of Bushra Bibi.
